The Marlins stopped their slide at six games with a win over the Athletics yesterday. Today, they’ll try to make it two in a row when they close out the series with the Marlins at loanDepot Park in Miami. Game time is scheduled for 1:40 p.m. EST.

After the 6-1 loss in Game One of the series extended their losing streak to six in a row, the Marlins were able to stop the bleeding yesterday with a 9-6 victory in Game Two. Miami starting pitcher Max Meyer was hit hard, giving up three home runs in his five innings of work. But it was another home run, a grand slam by Kyle Stowers in the bottom of the ninth that gave the Marlins the win. To help make it two in a row, the Marlins will start the day with Edward Cabrera on the mound. Cabrera is 0-1 in four starts this season with a 7.23 ERA and 1.77 WHIP. As for the Athletics, they are scheduled to start JP Sears. Sears brings a 4-2 record in six starts, with three consecutive wins, and a 2.94 ERA to the game.
