Two California teams that have been plagued by inconsistency this season, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and the Oakland Athletics will square it off in a three-game series starting Monday, 9:30 p.m. US EST, at Angel Stadium. The Los Angeles of Anaheim have just had their first look at Shohei Ohtani in LA Dodgers’ uniform over the weekend. Of course, it didn’t end well for them. Shohei Ohtani, who spent his first six seasons as an Angel, delivered a home run in back-to-back games to run more salt in the wounds of his former team. The Angels sits in the fourth place in the AL West standings with a 30-46 record, but losing Ohtani and missing the service of Mike Trout due to injury could only mean the franchise is heading to another losing season. Meanwhile, the Oakland Athletics continue to spiral down into the standings after dropping the last two games of their series with the Minnesota Twins. The A’s, who are 6-15 this June, have the second worst batting average in the MLB at .221 and third worst run total at 288.
