The Houston Astros look to even the score with the Athletics in Game 2 of their series on Friday at Dalkin Park.
The Astros’ four-game win streak ended on Thursday after bowing to the visiting Athletics 2-5 in the series opener. Houston tried to stage a late fightback after Christian Walker and Cam Smith drove in two runs in the 7th inning. In the end, going 0-5 after six innings would prove to be too much of a deficit for the Astros to overcome.
The win sent the Athletics back to the winner’s circle after suffering four consecutive losses. At 43-62, the Athletics still hold the worst record in the AL West and second worst in the American League, just five games better than the 37-66 Chicago White Sox.
