The first quarterfinal match at the 2025 Libema Open will pit Frenchman Ugo Humbert against Portugal’s No.1 Nuno Borges in what looks like an exciting duel for a spot in the semifinal round of this grass-court event in 's-Hertogenbosch.
Humbert recorded his first grass-court win of the year on Thursday, beating Daniel Evans of Great Britain 7-5 6-3. The Frenchman raced to a 3-0 lead in the first set, but Evans crept back into the match by winning 5 of the next 7 games. Humbert held serve to seize a crucial 6-5 lead and then broke in the next game for the set. Once again, Humbert took a commanding 4-1 lead in the second set before putting on the finishing touches to secure the win.
Borges received a free pass into the quarterfinals of the Libema Open after his second-round opponent, Otto Virtannen of Finland, withdrew because of an injury. Borges, who ousted Nishesh Basavaredy of the United States 7-6(2) 6-2 in the first round, advanced to his first ATP Main Tour quarterfinal since reaching the final eight at Grand Prix Hassan II in Marrakech, Morocco in April.

Our Nuno Borges vs Ugo Humbert Prediction
Why should you bet on Nuno Borges to cover +2.5 games? The Portuguese has just had a two-day rest, thanks to the walkover win he received in the second round. With fresh legs and the psychological advantage of beating Humbert 3-6 7-6(2) 7-6(4) in their last encounter at the 2024 Canadian Open, Borges is ready to trade punches with the former world’s No.13, who is only 14-10 overall and 4-6 against the ATP top-50 in 2025. Borges, meanwhile, parades a 3-4 record against the ATP top-20 and 2-2 in quarterfinal matches. Borges would also be a decent moneyline pick but I also could not overlook the experience and caliber of a Ugo Humbert.
