The £300 million investment Tottenham made this summer isn't paying off at the start of the season. Spurs, currently 17th in the Premier League, narrowly avoided relegation in the previous two seasons, but after two matches, the London club finds itself at the bottom of the table with two defeats, zero goals scored, and five conceded.

In the loss against Newcastle, Tottenham had their chances, as evidenced by their 17 shots, six of which were on target. Mateus Fernandez and Marmoush, playing as strikers, didn't have a bad game, but the midfield looked shaky, and wingers Porro and Tel were largely ineffective.

Nottingham Forest aren't doing much better; the Tricky Trees extended their winless run in the Premier League to five matches with their defeat against Leeds and recent draw against Liverpool. To make matters worse, they were also eliminated from the EFL Cup by Leeds. Even so, they can take heart from the fact that they beat Tottenham twice in the last Premier League season, 3-0 at the City Ground and again in London in March of this year.
