The Mariners lost to the Yankees again in Game 2, this time by a low-scoring score of 1-2. Once again, the Mariners made another bad error running the bases, like Robles in Game 1, but this time it was Rodriguez who let himself get caught at 3rd base and was thrown out by the catcher.

The Mariners' weak offense finally ended up denting their Playoff hopes. Although they are still 3 games away, it seems unlikely that they can reach a wild card, since they would also have to overcome the red-hot Tigers now.

For Game 3, the betting sites are again predicting a low-scoring game at T-Mobile Park and set the Game Total at 7.5 like in Game 2. 7 of the Yankees' last 10 games ended in a Game Total UNDER.

The last one will be a good pitching duel between Schimdt for the Yankees and Gilbert for the Mariners. Schimdt has had an excellent stretch run and was instrumental in the Yankees securing the division in their last-ditch effort. Schimdt is 3-2 with a 1.59 ERA in his last five starts, throwing over 100 pitches in three of them.
