The Phillies are going through the same thing that the Yankees went through before the All-Star break. Despite their comfortable lead in the NL East, the Phillies have lost their last four series. Against the Twins and Guardians, two teams that will probably be in the playoffs, the Phillies lost series and raise questions about what could happen to them in a possible playoff this year against the Braves, Brewers or Dodgers.

The schedule continues to make things difficult for the Phillies as they will now host the Yankees and then go to Seattle to play the Mariners.

Perhaps it is a relief for the Phillies that Wheeler will pitch tomorrow, having had a great season, with a 10-4 record and ERA of 2.55. But the right-hander does not have a good record against the Yankees as he has an ERA of 5.91 against them.

Gil will pitch for the Yankees, and he has recovered somewhat from the disastrous end of June and beginning of July when he and the Yankees went into a slump.

Chisholm Jr. was the Yankees' midseason move looking to fill the void in the starting lineup with another electrifying player capable of hitting HRs similar to Soto. Chisholm Jr. went 1-for-5 in his Yankees debut at Fenway Park.
