The New York Yankees and the Minnesota Twins meet Wednesday night at Target Field to wrap up their midweek series. New York enters this matchup at 84-67, still in the thick of the playoff race after edging out the Twins 10-9 in a slugfest on Tuesday. The Yankees remain five games back of the Toronto Blue Jays in the American League East and will need to string together wins down the stretch to stay alive in the postseason hunt. Following this series, New York will hit the road again for a critical divisional matchup against the Baltimore Orioles, a series that could heavily influence the Wild Card standings.

Minnesota, by contrast, has little left to play for this season.
