It is the MLB Little League Classic tonight in Williamsport, PA. Amid arguably the greatest young amateur event of the year, the Little League World Series, this new tradition of MLB hosting a game in the middle of the tournament has become one of the most popular Sunday Night Baseball games of the season. The New York Yankees (73-51) will take on the Detroit Tigers (60-64). This will be the 3rd and deciding game of their series. The Yankees took game one 3-0 on the back of Gerrit Cole who struck out 8 while shutting out the Tigers in his 6 innings of work. Aaron Judge and Oswald Peraza each homered in the win. In game two, Detroit starter Keider Montero, went 5 innings of shutout work while allowing just 2 hits to the Yankees. Andy Ibanez hit a 2-run double to help lift the Tigers to the 4-0 win. Tonight, Marcus Stroman (8-6, 4.01) will be on the mound for the Yankees. He is coming off a 1 run and 4 hit start against the Rangers where he picked up his 8th win of the season.
