On social media, Guardians fans are happy after beating the Yankees in the first series of the season, taking the Monday and Tuesday games with a possible sweep on Wednesday. Fans see it as revenge for the Yankees' elimination of the Guardians in the 2024 Playoffs.

In Game 1, the Guardians won 6-4 with the Yankees as betting favorites, in a game that was 6-0, and then came a late rally that did little for the Bronx Bombers.

Then in Game 2, things started well for the Yankees with a home run by Ben Rice, his sixth of the year, on the first pitch Bibee threw to him, putting him in a difficult situation to start the game. However, Bibee took control of the game after taking his start into the sixth inning, trailing 0-2. In the bottom of the sixth, the Guardians reacted through their stars: Kwan stole third and advanced to home, Manzardo hit his third double of the season to tie it, and Angel Martínez drove in Manzardo to give the Guardians an irreversible lead and Bibee his second W of the season.
