The first game of the exciting Yankees-Reds series at Great American Ball Park drew a crowd of 31,417. The Yankees started Game 1 as favorites at -125 odds, but they lost again and are struggling to shake off what has so far been a rather weak end to June.

The Yankees lost seven of their last 10 games, largely due to the terrible collective offensive slump they seemed to be recovering from. They hit and won the last series against the weak Orioles.
