Columbus Blue Jackets (31-26-8) and New York Rangers (32-28-6) will lock horns at the Nationwide Arena on Saturday night. Both teams are aiming for a playoff spot in the Metropolitan Division, making this an entertaining high-stakes game. The Blue Jackets are fourth in the standings with 70 points, eight behind the Devils in third position. They’ll be looking to improve their recent performances after giving up five of their last 10 games and two on the bounce.
The Rangers, meanwhile, also have 70 points, and a win could give them the coveted fourth position. Peter Laviolette’s side has shown much improvement lately, losing only three of their last 10 matches. They are coming off a 3-2 overtime win against the Wild to bounce back from their 2-1 loss over the Jets earlier in the week. The Rangers definitely need to put together a string of wins to improve their ranking in the Division and make the playoffs to appease their restless fans.
