Former New York starter Freddy Peralta had a solid outing, shutting out the visitors with six innings while giving up only a single homer. They have the second-best home record in the league, and could cause problems for the Mets, who are inconsistent on the road. The hosts will start Griffin Jax, who is 6-9 with a 3.63 ERA. His numbers give the Rays a solid platform to build on, especially given the team’s strong bullpen. The Mets will start Justin Hagenman, who returns from a rib injury. The left-hander has made nine appearances in the major leagues with a 4.56 ERA. He’s definitely a weak link for the visitors.
