The New York Mets had a nice 6-game winning streak in the middle of April. Since then, they have gone just 4-8. They began a 6-game road trip on Friday night in Tampa where they were handed a 10-8 loss by the Rays. Jose Quintana was atrocious for the Mets. He went just 2.2 innings while allowing 8 earned runs on 10 hits. Aaron Civale was nothing special for the Rays as he allowed 7 runs in just 4.2 innings of work. Ahmed Rosario of the Rays went 3-5 with 2 runs and 2 RBIs to lift his season average to .309. Despite Brett Baty’s 2 homers and 4 RBIs, the Mets fell short of their comeback bid. On Saturday, Christian Scott of the Mets, will make his career debut. The former 5th round pick in the 2021 draft is finally getting an opportunity at some big-league hitters. For the Rays, they will counter with Zack Littell who is just 1-2 on the season and is carrying a respectable 3.27 ERA. He wen 6 innings in his last start which ended in a loss to the White Sox. Both bullpens will be a bit depleted in this 2nd game as both previous starters were unable to get to the 5th inning.
