The Phillies have padded their lead on the second-place Mets (76-70) to 10 games, with a little over two weeks left in the regular-season schedule.

The Mets will enter the series finale as the road underdogs (+113), having lost their last five assignments – including the past three games to the Phillies. New York has gone through a difficult five-game spell, posting a 5.14 ERA and averaging 2.6 runs per game. With a 76-70 record, not only did the Mets lose their shot at the NL East title, but their recent losing woes have put them in a precarious position in the wild card race. The Mets, who hold the third and final wild card slot, are trying to protect a 2-game lead on the San Francisco Giants and Cincinnati Reds, who share an identical 74-72 record.
