Philadelphia Phillies vs New York Mets Prediction & Picks - MLB

The New York Mets will try to end their six-game losing streak this weekend as they head to the City of Brotherly Love for a three-game series vs. the Philadelphia Phillies. Game 1 is set to get underway tonight at 7:15 p.m. EST at Citizens Bank Park.

Like most teams, the Mets are not at their best typically when away from home (18-20). Stopping the slide will not be easy against a Phillies team that is 24-13 at home and has won eight of their last ten games. It certainly doesn’t look too promising when their starting pitcher, Blade Tidwell, who is making his second start, got thrashed in his season debut (3 2/3 innings, nine hits, six runs) against a mediocre Cardinals team. He’ll likely have a short leash since the Mets' bullpen is one of the best in the league this year (3.16 ERA). Zack Wheeler will start the day on the mound for the Phillies. He has gone 7-2 in 13 starts with a 2.76 ERA and .89 WHIP. He did not factor into the decision in his April 23 start vs. the Mets in New York. But he pitched six solid innings, giving up five hits and two runs while striking out nine and walking two.
