After Rivalry Weekend, MLB scheduled another exciting series between the Red Sox and Mets at Fenway Park after the Yankees-Mets game.

After splitting Games 1 and 2 of the series against the Yankees, the Mets failed to win Sunday's decisive game in the Bronx. The highlight of the weekend was the tremendous boos received by Soto, and Game 3 was a very close 2-2 tie until the Yankees broke it open with a Bellinger home run in the bottom of the eighth, leaving the score at 8-2. The Mets lost in part due to a key error by Alonso, whose face showed disappointment after he missed a throw to home after receiving an infield grounder. However, the Yankees were favored to win that game by -175 odds with Fried pitching.

The Mets, however, will be heavy favorites for Monday's game, for which Mendoza reserved their ace, Kodai Senga. The Japanese player has a 1.02 ERA this season, but nothing guarantees a low-scoring game at Fenway.
