Baltimore Orioles vs New York Mets Prediction & Picks - MLB

The New York Mets will take on the Orioles in interleague play on Wednesday. First Pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST at Oriole Park at Camden Yards in Baltimore, MD. As one of the better teams in the NL and facing an AL team with a sub-.500 record, the Mets opened as the betting favorite with a -155 moneyline. 

After a rain delay, Tuesday night’s game needed to go to extra innings for someone to win. With the score tied at nine, it was Juan Soto coming to the rescue with an RBI single in the tenth to give the Mets a 7-6 win.

David Peterson will get the start for the Mets today. Peterson has a 6-4 record in 17 starts with a 3.18 ERA and a 1.27 WHIP. He has not been at his best on the road, however. In eight road starts, he is 1-4 with a 4.44 ERA and a .249 OBA. He had a solid outing in his last start vs. Milwaukee, where he lasted 6 2/3 innings, giving up five hits and one earned run. Baltimore is set to go with Tomoyuki Sugano. Sugano has gone 6-5 this season in 17 starts with a 4.44 ERA and 1.31 WHIP. He has not had his best stuff at home, however, where he is 3-2 in eight starts with a 4.91 (4.01 on the road) with a .286 OBA.
