The New York Mets will try to get back into the winners’ circle as they face the streaking Baltimore Orioles in Game 1 of their series on Tuesday at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

The Mets’ four-game win streak ended in a 4-6 loss to the New York Yankees in Monday’s series finale. The Mets managed to erase a 0-5 deficit after scoring four unanswered runs between the 5th and 6th innings to pull within one run, 4-5, entering the 7th inning. However, Yankees outfield Aaron Judge came through with a run-driving sacrifice fly in that inning to secure a 6-4 lead. The Mets never scored a run again, allowing the Yankees to come away with a solitary win in their subway series.

The Orioles have won all 3 games of their weekend series against the Atlanta Braves to improve their regular-season slate to 40-49. Although they are still the worst team in the AL East, Baltimore showed a significant improvement in the past month, finishing the month of June with a 16-11 record. The Orioles, who have won 3 of their first 5 games in July, get another chance to bolster their momentum in this challenging series against the No.2 team in the NL West.
