The Liberty have had the Sun's number this season, winning their first two matches by an average margin of 20 points. In their most recent matchup back in June, Breanna Stewart's 28 points led the Liberty to an 89-80 victory.
Moreover, New York has been in better form recently, winning five of their last six games. They're coming off an 85-81 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks on Thursday. The Liberty had a 26-point lead after three quarters, building enough cushion to hold off a furious Sparks rally in the final period.
Five Liberty players scored in double digits, led by Sabrina Ionescu's 20 markers. New York has been superb on that end of the floor, ranking third in the league in offensive rating (114.0).
If the Liberty are in good form, the Sun are the opposite. They've lost six of their last seven games, including an embarrassing 104-69 defeat at the hands of the Atlanta Dream.
