The Philadelphia 76ers will hope to get the series back in their momentum as they host the New York Knicks at Wells Fargo Center on Thursday. The Knicks lead the series two games to none after two close victories at Madison Square Garden. It was an ensemble cast of Knicks characters that contributed to the points tally, including double-digits from the entire New York starting lineup. Joel Embiid managed to score 34 points, along with 10 rebounds and 6 assists, despite dealing with a problematic knee that has flared up recently. Tyrese Maxey has also proved his worth and deserves the lion’s share of the credit for keeping Philadelphia in the game until the final minute. Maxey scored a game-high 35 points and was a rebound shy of a triple-double. 76ers fans will be hopeful the extra day off in between Game 2 and Game 3, provided for travel purposes, will give Embiid the rest he needs to come back strong. It appears Philadelphia will continue to lean on him and Maxey for the bulk of their offensive output.
