After winning the first two games at MSG, the New York Knicks head to America’s heartland seeking a commanding 3-0 series lead over the Indiana Pacers in their best-of-seven Eastern Conference semis series. The Knicks surged to a 2-0 lead in the series behind stellar play from the Villanova trio Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, and Donte DiVincenzo. After four consecutive games of at least 40 points, Brunson was held down to 29 points, though 24 of which came in the 3rd and 4th quarters to rally the Knicks in the second half. Hart made his presence felt for every second of the 48 minutes he logged on the floor in Game 2, posting 19 points, 15 rebounds, and 7 assists. DiVicenzo and OG Anunoby also showed up with 28 points each while Isaiah Hartenstein tallied 14 points, 12 rebounds, and 8 assists. The Knicks shot 57 percent from the field and 46.7 percent from beyond the arc. Although the Pacers still converted 51 percent of their field goal attempts, the Knicks dominated the battle for rebounds, 44-34. Following a lackluster 6-point, 8-assist performance in Game 1, Tyrese Halliburton delivered big numbers in Game 2 with 34 points and 9 assists. Unfortunately, Indiana could only get six points from their starting center Myles Turner.
