The Golden State Warriors play host to the New York Knicks Monday evening at the Chase Center. The Knicks are on the 3rd game of their 4-game west coast road trip and find themselves 2-0 through the 1st half of said trip. They handed the Portland Trailblazers a 105-93 loss and followed that with a 98-91 victory over the Sacramento Kings. While the wins were quality, they are facing a hungry Warriors team that are fighting for their playoff lives. Jalen Brunson of the Knicks has been on another level during the road trip and is averaging 43.5ppg during it. However, it is not his offense that is what will be needed but his defense in this rematch against the Warriors. In their previous meeting back in late February, Brunson and company were unable to defend the duo of Steph Curry and Jonathan Kuminga who combined for 56 of the team’s 110 points in their 11-point victory. The task could be made more difficult if OG Anunoby is unable to go as he deals with an elbow injury. He was held to just 2 points on 1-8 shooting in the Knicks last game but was able to pick up 6 boards and 3 blocks. If OG sits, Precious Achiuwa and Bojan Bogdanovic will see their minutes increase and will need their productions to do the same.

Road trips are always tough, especially when teams are traveling from one coast to the other. With the Knicks already picking up 2 wins, we believe they will have a letdown Monday night against the Warriors. Given the Warriors ability to play up-tempo and force the beat-up Knicks to run on some tired legs, the 4.5 points should not be too much for the Warriors to cover. Look for the Steve Kerr to send different looks at Brunson to keep him uncomfortable and his 40-point streak to come to an end here.
