After a monumental collapse in the series opener, the Boston Celtics are set out to even the series with the New York Knicks in Game 2 of their Eastern Conference semis series on Wednesday at TD Garden.
The Knicks drew first blood in their best-of-seven series with the Celtics, and they did it by clawing back from a 20-point deficit to stun the defending NBA champion on their home floor, 108-105 OT. OG Anunoby and Jalen Brunson each scored 29 points, while Karl Anthony Towns (14 points and 13 rebounds) and Josh Hart (14 points and 11 rebounds) posted double-doubles. Mikal Bridges only scored 8 points on 3-for-13 shooting, but made the game-winning defensive play after stripping the ball from Jaylen Brown.
The Celtics suffered their second loss this postseason, but the Game 1 defeat punched harder in the gut after blowing a 20-point deficit. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown led the way with 23 points, and Derrick White tallied 19 points and 11 rebounds. Jrue Holiday returned from injury and chipped in 16 points, but Boston missed the usual impact they get from Kristaps Porzingis, who went 0 for 4 with 4 rebounds in 13 minutes in Game 1. Porzingis is listed day-to-day because of an illness.

Boston bounces back from a loss in a big way most of the time. For the entire length of Game 1 until the Knicks started to make their comeback, the Celtics looked like the more experienced and talented team of the two, with so many weapons at their disposal.
