The Boston Celtics and the New York Knicks are set to rekindle their rivalry in the Summer League stage on Sunday at Cox Pavillion in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Celtics opened their Summer League campaign with a 92-78 win over the heavily-favored Memphis Grizzlies. Jordan Walsh put up strong numbers in his third SL campaign, pumping up a team-high 17 points on 6-for-12 shooting. Hugo Gonzalez, the 28th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft out of Real Madrid, also impressed in his SL debut with 12 points and 5 assists in 28 minutes of play.
The Knicks absorbed an embarrassing loss to the Detroit Pistons, 86-104, to kick off their Las Vegas Summer League campaign. Frenchman Pacome Dadiet, the 25th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, finished with a team-high 17 points while MarJon Beauchamp, 22nd overall in the 2022 NBA Draft, recorded 15 in 26 minutes of play. Tyler Kolek also turned heads despite a 4-11 shooting, as he posted 10 points, 8 assists and 6 rebounds in 27 minutes of play.
