While the Aaron Rodgers era in New York never got started last season as Rodgers went down with a torn Achilles. Even without him, 2nd year star wideout Garrett Wilson was able to catch 95 balls and rack up over 1,000 yards last season. Their other 2nd year star, Breece Hall fell just 6 yards short of 1,000 yards but did score 9 total touchdowns. The defense was arguably the best in the league and return nearly their entire group. All things point up for this Jets team but only time will tell.
The San Francisco 49ers fell short of their Super Bowl aspirations as they lost to the Chiefs 25-22 in overtime. Brock Purdy looked like a franchise quarterback during the season and the addition of Christian McCaffery proved to be franchise changing. During the offseason, Brandon Aiyuk ended his hold out nearly days before the season started but with him and Deebo, the passing attack should be strong once again. The defense will once again be formidable and the goal will remain the same in the bay area, a Super Bowl victory.

The hype around the Jets and veteran QB Aaron Rodgers is real but it is going to be a tough task in the opener for him. This 49er defense will be looking to shut down the Jets and prove that not only are they capable of standing up to a strong offense but that they can bounce back from a losing performance in last year’s Super Bowl. While Aiyuk’s hold out could hamper his relationship with Purdy early this season, we believe CMC and Deebo will provide enough to put them on top of the defense’s strong performance.
