The Pittsburgh Steelers (4-2 SU, 4-2 ATS) host the New York Jets (2-4 SU, 2-4 ATS) in what has to be considered a make-or-break situation for New York. The Jets already trail the Buffalo Bills by two full games in the AFC East, and if they don’t get the offense going soon, it’s going to be far too late for them to make any kind of run at the playoffs.
New York’s offense remains a real problem, as the Jets haven’t allowed more than 23 points in any of their past five games. But they’ve only won two of them, and those came against New England and Tennessee. The Patriots and Titans have a combined two wins all season, so the Jets aren’t exactly doing well against the top teams in the NFL. It’s looking like New York is a second-tier squad without the offense needed to compete.

Pittsburgh’s defense has played excellent as usual this season, only allowing more than 20 points to Indianapolis. As long as the Steelers can keep the opposing offense in the teens, they usually win the game. That’s a fairly obvious statement, but it’s been accurate; over its past 10 games, Pittsburgh has gone 6-0 when it allows 19 or less and 1-3 when it allows 20 or more.
The Jets aren’t really getting things done on offense, and the public seems to be reacting too hard to the trade of Davante Adams. The move isn’t likely to fix what ails the Jets, as the real problem seems to be more that Aaron Rodgers is getting old and time is catching up with him. With the Jets still trying to hold on to the past, our prediction for New York vs. Pittsburgh is Steelers +3.
