The New York Rangers will be aiming to make it three wins on the spin when they take on fierce rivals the New York Islanders at MSG on Tuesday night.
After dropping their season opener to the Boston Bruins, the Rangers have been on a tear up. They demolished Tampa Bay 5-1, then comfortably beat Detroit 2-0, before firing in three goals in the third period to edge out Utah 4-2. Expectations are fairly low for the Rangers this season, but that could all change if they can continue their bright start.
The Islanders have played just two games so far: a narrow 2-1 loss in Toronto, followed by a thumping 6-0 success against a dire New Jersey Devils side.
Few experts are predicting either of the New York franchises to reach the playoffs this season, but the Battle of New York is always an intense and hard fought battle, so we are expecting plenty of fireworks at the Garden on Tuesday night.
