The Montreal Canadiens will host the defending Stanley Cup Champion, the Carolina Hurricanes, on Tuesday evening.
The Canes have started their season with a 1-1-1 mark. It was not a great opener against the Florida Panthers. They were unable to find the back of the net and gave up an overtime goal to Gustav Forsling. They then lost a higher-scoring game against the Capitals a couple of nights later. Sebastian Aho and Logan Stankoven got the Canes on the board, but it was not enough as they fell 5-2. They finally got a win in overtime against the Flyers in their latest game. Former Flyer, Shayne Gostisbehere, scored the game-winner in the 3-2 final.
Montreal will be happy to finally have a home game after starting the season with back-to-back road games. They opened with a solid 3-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs. They then lost in overtime to the Penguins in a high-scoring affair, 6-5. Jakub Dobes was not at his best in the recent loss, allowing 6 goals on 30 shots from the Penguins. If they plan on having any shots against these visiting Canes, Dobes will need to be a much better version of himself tomorrow night.
