The third weekend of the 2026 Major League Soccer season kicks off on Saturday afternoon, when New York City and Orlando City clash at Yankee Stadium. Having not quite come out on top during the first round of league games, the hosts picked up their first victory of the campaign last weekend, beating the Philadelphia Union in dramatic style, winning courtesy of a 99th-minute goal from defender Tayvon Gray. 

There was nothing to shout about for the Orlando boys last weekend, despite the fact that they raced into a two-goal lead at home to Inter Miami. A poor second half, especially at the back, meant that it was back-to-back defeats for Oscar Pareja's men at the start of the new season. At the third time of asking, can they pick up points and get off the mark?

Given what we've seen from these two teams over the first couple of games in 2026, 'Over 2.5 Goals' may just be leniently priced at -149. For starters, both teams have plenty of offensive quality, while neither has kept it tight at the back, so this could easily be an open game. Last weekend, the Lions created some big chances and they again proved that they have the players to score goals. The same can be said for NYCFC, who looked very dangerous on the break against the Union, but who also looked quite open. 

As two decent offensive and very open teams clash, expect goals at Yankee Stadium.
