América boasts the most valuable roster in Liga MX, with a market value exceeding $100 million, a figure that increased after América's dominance in the Mexican league, winning three league titles. However, three consecutive failures diminished the squad's value somewhat; These blows were: Not having qualified for the Club World Cup, having lost the final of the Clausura tournament at the hands of Toluca and, again, 6 days before their clash against Necaxa, having lost the champion of champions trophy in Los Angeles against Toluca.
América's previous defeat against Toluca was a lackluster match for the team from the Mexican capital, where they completely lost control of the midfield, with Lichnovsky and Violante having very little impact.
As if that weren't enough, they now travel to Aguascalientes to face Necaxa in the final match scheduled for Saturday, July 26. For some reason, Necaxa has been a difficult opponent for América, so much so that they haven't beaten them since 2023.
