The Seattle Kraken and Nashville Predators hope to boost their playoff hopes in a head-to-head clash on Tuesday at Climate Pledge Arena.
Seattle currently holds the last wild-card spot in the Western Conference with 67 points, sitting one point ahead of the San Jose Sharks. The Predators aren’t far away either, with 64 points. A regulation win on Tuesday would give Nashville a major lift.
The Predators make their second stop on a five-game road trip, having started it with a 3-2 loss to the red-hot Buffalo Sabres. That result has left Andrew Brunette’s team with a 1-3-1 record across the last five games. Seattle’s form has been similar, with the team going 2-3-0 in the last five outings.
On Tuesday, the Kraken will aim to rebound from Saturday's 7-4 loss to the Ottawa Senators. The team struggled massively on defense after it was revealed that several defensemen were dealing with an illness. They should feel better on Tuesday night, but Seattle will be without forward Jaden Schwartz, who suffered a skate cut on his face in Saturday’s loss.
Nashville is almost at full strength, with defenseman Adam Wilsby the only player nursing an injury. The roster features one of the hottest players in the league, Steven Stamkos, who has tallied 24 goals and 13 assists since December.
