The struggling Nashville Predators (5-8-4) coming into this road contest against the New York Rangers (7-7-2). The Predators have lost 4 straight games. However, all but one of those losses came by a single goal. Their problem so far this season has been defense. They have allowed 59 goals so far, which ranks them 2nd worst in the league. In all 5 of their wins, the Predators were able to hold their opponents under 3 goals. On the flip side, their opponents have scored 3 or more in each Predators loss. Juuse Saros has been in net for all their wins, while backup Justus Annunen has looked terrible in his limited starts. He has allowed 16 goals in his 4 games this season. Unfortunately for the Predators, it does look like Annunen will be getting the start in this one. For their opponents, the Rangers have been just what their record states, a .500 team. They scored a nice 4-1 win over a good Detroit team on Friday and then got blanked 5-0 against the Islanders in their next game on Saturday. The defense has not been a problem for these Rangers as they sit in 7th place in the league in terms of goals allowed.
