The Italian Super Cup is being played this week! In this first semi-final, we will see a huge clash between Napoli and AC Milan on Thursday at King Saud University Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. A reaction is expected from the Neapolitans. After losing to SL Benfica in the Champions League (2-0), they failed to bounce back in Serie A, losing to Udinese (1-0). Antonio Conte's team is in third place in the Italian league and is not brimming with confidence going into this highly anticipated match.
AC Milan are also coming off a major disappointment. Last weekend, the Rossoneri were held to a draw by Sassuolo at San Siro (2-2). They have relinquished their lead in Serie A to Inter Milan. Not competing in any European competitions this season and already out of the Coppa Italia, Massimiliano Allegri's men are looking to bounce back in the Italian Super Cup. They have been particularly strong against the big teams since the start of the season. On September 28, the Lombardy club managed to beat Napoli in Serie A (2-1). Will history repeat itself on Thursday evening

Napoli - AC Milan: Form Analysis
After winning Serie A last season, Napoli knows that expectations are even higher this year. The club is competing in numerous competitions at the end of 2025. Qualified for the quarterfinals of the Coppa Italia, the Neapolitan club is in the thick of the battle to reach the Champions League playoffs.
Despite its latest defeat in the Champions League against SL Benfica (2-0), it remains in the top 24 of the league phase. In Serie A, Antonio Conte's team has just suffered a blow with a 1-0 defeat to Udinese. However, it remains in third place in the standings, just two points behind Inter Milan (1st).
AC Milan beat Napoli in Serie A at the end of September (2-1).
For its part, AC Milan is coming off an extremely difficult season. The Lombardy club failed to qualify for any European competition. It hopes to take advantage of this to play a leading role in Serie A, especially after its elimination in the round of 16 of the Coppa Italia.
Unbeaten in the last 14 games of the Italian championship, the Rossoneri have just been held to a draw by Sassuolo (2-2). They have slipped to second place in the standings, one point behind Inter Milan (1st). Massimiliano Allegri's men are looking to bounce back and win the Italian Super Cup. They have reason to believe they can qualify for the final, having beaten Napoli in the league at the end of September (2-1).

Napoli & AC Milan Squad Analysis
Napoli still have a number of players missing. Alex Meret, André-Frank Zambo Anguissa, Billy Gilmour, and Kevin De Bruyne are all still injured. On the bright side, Antonio Conte saw Miguel Gutierrez and Stanislav Lobotka return to action last weekend. They both played a few minutes against Udinese and are in contention for a starting spot on Thursday evening.
Romelu Lukaku, who has been out since the start of the season, could return to action. The Neapolitan club has a few key players who could make their mark in this clash. This is the case for Scott McTominay in midfield, but also for David Neres and Rasmus Hojlund in attack.
Christian Pulisic is one of the players in form in AC Milan's first half of the season.
As for AC Milan, Santiago Gimenez is expected to be out for several more months. Rafael Leao remains uncertain for the clash against Napoli, as does Matteo Gabbia, who was injured against Sassuolo. Youssouf Fofana, who has missed the Rossoneri's last three games, could return.
Massimiliano Allegri will rely in particular on a very solid defense, with Mike Maignan in goal. On the left wing, Davide Bartesaghi is taking on a new dimension, having just scored twice against Sassuolo. In midfield, the Lombard coach has plenty to choose from with Luka Modric and Adrien Rabiot. Finally, Christian Pulisic is looking to make his mark, as he is one of Serie A's top scorers with seven goals.
