On Wednesday, there's an interesting game due to take place in Qatar, where at Ahmad bin Ali Stadium, PSG and Flamengo will clash in the final of the FIFA Intercontinental Cup. This is a game between the UEFA Champions League winners and the Copa Libertadores winners. Naturally, as one of the biggest clubs on the planet, boasting a squad full of top-tier talent, the team from France is hugely fancied to get the job done.
However, the wily Brazilians, despite lacking the same level of big-name talent, are a very good side, while they too have some star quality, not to mention some hugely experienced campaigners. In other words, this is not a foregone conclusion. We recenlty saw Flamengo grind out the win in the Copa Libertadores Final in sturdy fashion. Maybe they can repeat that trick against one of the best teams in Europe.

PSG - Flamengo: Form Analysis
This will be PSG's first and only game at the FIFA Intercontinental Cup. They arrive off the back of a hard-fought win against Metz in Ligue 1, with Luis Enrique's men winning two of their last three. They've only lost one of their last seven, winning five of those seven. Such form should mean that the team from the French capital of Paris arrives at Ahmad bin Ali Stadium feeling confident.
The Flamengo boys should also been feeling positive. They've played twice in Qatar already, beating the likes of Mexico's Cruz Azul and Egypt's Pyramids to reach this final. Let's face it, Filipe Luis' men know how to grind out results, avoiding defeat in each of their last seven, five of which they've won, while they recently showed their ability to do it on the biggest stage, winning the Copa Libertadores.

PSG & Flamengo Squad Analysis
For PSG, there will be one notable absentee. Achraf Hakimi, who is arguably Luis Enrique's most important player, will not be involved as he is already preparing for the soon-to-begin African Cup of Nations with Morocco. Otherwise, the team from France should be at full strength, with the likes of Vitinha, Desire Doue, Kvicha Kvaratskhelia and Fabian Ruiz all expected to start.
The Brazilian team will be without a couple of player. There are doubts over the fitness of Douglas Telles, who recently picked up an injury against Mirassol in a Brazilian Serie A game. Allan is also expected to miss out for Filipe Luis' men. Fortunately, key players such as Jorge Carrascal, Bruno Henrique, Jorginho and Giorgian de Arrascaeta are all ready to go.
PSG - Flamengo Key Points
- Both teams have found the net in seven of Flamengo's last eight away games in all competitions.
- Flamengo have not failed to score in any of their last seven away games in all competitions.
- The Parisians have only failed to score once in all competitions since September.
- The Brazilians have not failed to score in any competition since October.

Our PSG vs Flamengo Prediction
Quite simply, 'Both Teams to Score' looks generously priced. In big games, when push comes to shove, PSG typically get the job done but they rarely keep a clean sheet, conceding at least once in big wins against the likes of Tottenham, Lyon and Leverkusen in recent times. The Flamengo boys are also very capable on the break, which should allow them to hurt a PSG side that struggles to guard against the counter.
The fact that the Brazilians have a habit of both scoring and conceding on the road also points towards odds of -115 being slightly generous.
