Tournament hosts Morocco take on Mali in a crucial AFCOM 2025 Group A fixture at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat on Friday.
Victory for either side will guarantee them a place in the last 16 of the tournament, whilst a draw would virtually ensure Morocco's progress, but leave Mali facing an anxious Matchday Three clash with Comoros.
Morocco began the competition with a hard fought 2-0 victory over a stubborn Comoros side. After being held out for almost an hour, excellent strikes from Brahim Diaz and Ayoub El Kaabi secured three points for the hosts.
Mali looked to be on course for an opening day victory of their own when Lassine Sinayoko gave them the lead against Zambia. However, an injury time equalizer from Patson Daka denied them the win, in a game that also saw El Bilal Toure miss a penalty for Mali.
