The Utah Mammoth will host the Minnesota Wild in a Central Division tilt on Friday at the Delta Center.
Utah has been among the best teams in the league in 2026, but Andre Tourigny couldn’t inspire his troops to victory in their first game back from the Olympic break. Dylan Guenther potted two goals on home ice against the Colorado Avalanche, but the Mammoth had to settle for a 4-2 defeat on Wednesday night.
While Wednesday’s loss was a setback for the Mammoth, the team also received some good news as Logan Cooley returned to action. After missing 28 games due to a lower-body injury, the talented centerman made an immediate impact, recording one assist.
With Cooley back, the Mammoth will have extra confidence in their ability to get back on track against Minnesota. The team has suffered consecutive losses just twice since the Christmas break.
Minnesota won five straight before the league was paused for the Olympics. Kirill Kaprizov & Co. have performed at a very high level for most of the season and are difficult to contain. However, Utah will get help from the schedule in its attempt to handle the Wild, as Minnesota will travel to Salt Lake City following a tough home game on Thursday night against the league-leading Colorado Avalanche.
