The Minnesota Vikings will try to make it three in a row this week (two on the road) when they head to New Jersey to take on the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. Kickoff for this game between two teams eliminated from the playoffs is scheduled for 1 p.m. EST with coverage provided by Fox.
Minnesota has every reason to feel good and confident coming into this road game after beating the Dallas Cowboys in Arlington at AT&T Stadium, 34-26. The run game was non-existent, but the defense played well, and J.J. McCarthy had arguably his best day as a pro (15-24 for 250 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. This game came on the heels of a 31-0 win over another NFC East team, the Washington Commanders. As for the Giants, the struggle has been all too real for the G-men. Ever since beating the Philadelphia Eagles 34-17, it has been all downhill with injuries making it harder and harder for Jaxon Dart to get the offense moving. With a 29-21 loss to the Commanders last week, the Giants have lost eight straight, which is likely why they are home underdogs to the Vikings in this game.

Neither team is very good in this game, but I’d say proceed with caution if you want to back the Vikings. Beating the Cowboys is not an impressive feat. The Dallas defense has reverted back to its early season form when it made every opposing quarterback look MVP-worthy. McCarthy is nowhere near as good as the Cowboys made him look last week. Now, the Giants also have a sub-par defense, but I have more faith in Jaxon Dart making plays than McCarthy.
