The Minnesota Vikings (3-0 SU, 3-0 ATS) visit the Green Bay Packers (2-1 SU, 2-1 ATS) in another chapter of their ancient rivalry. Green Bay was expected to compete for the division title this season until Jordan Love got hurt, but Malik Willis has held his own behind a solid running game. Love appears to be on the mend, but the Packers look like they’re still in good shape for the NFC North.
Minnesota has shocked everyone with how easily it has gotten to 3-0. The Vikings lost their planned starter for the year in JJ McCarthy, but that opened the door for Sam Darnold to try playing with a team around him that is actually competent. The Vikings have looked very good to this point in the season, and they now have to be considered one of the threats to win the NFC North.

The biggest question here is whether Green Bay can solve the Minnesota run defense. The Packers got past Indianapolis and Tennessee because they kept the ball on the ground and didn’t ask Willis to do too much with the football. Willis’ biggest problem in Tennessee was being asked to do too much too often, and Green Bay has no desire to repeat that mistake.
But Minnesota’s ground defense has been one of its biggest strengths. The Vikings are winning games because they take away one aspect of the offense and force teams to attack their secondary. So far, that hasn’t worked out very well. Only San Francisco managed to score more than one touchdown, as the under has cashed in all three Vikings games. The other shoe will drop eventually, but for this matchup, our prediction for Minnesota vs. Green Bay is Vikings +2.5.
