As part of their strong MLS campaign, in which they sit second in the Western Conference with 25 points from 14 matches, Minnesota United is in second place and defeated Austin FC 0-3 on May 3rd, even though they weren't the betting favorites at the time. With an own goal from Sanchez, and goals from Markanich and Pereyra, Minnesota United prevailed and will face Austin FC again, this time at Allianz Field.
