The Minnesota Twins (12-15) have lost 4 straight games and are staring at a sweep from the Tampa Bay Rays (15-11) in the eyes this afternoon. In both losses, the Twins were held to less than 3 runs and gave up exactly 6. The scoring woes are interesting, as the Twins are still in the top 10 of the league in total runs scored. It is not likely that this lineup will stay cold.
The Twins will be sending Simeon Woods Richardson to the mound in this final game of the series. He is 0-3 and is carrying nearly a 6.00 ERA. He did have success against this Tampa Bay lineup in their meeting earlier this month, but has been knocked around in his 3 starts since that previous meeting.
The Rays will also have a starter on the mound who has seen his struggles. However, Griffen Jax is not a normal starter and is likely to only throw an inning or 2. That said, he has not been great in his limited pitching opportunities this season.
