Seattle (47-37) is looking to begin another win streak with a win tonight over the Minnesota Twins (45-37). After defeating the Rays on Wednesday, the Mariners took game one of their series with these Twins yesterday. Tied at 2-2 in extras, Cal Raleigh hit into a fielder’s choice which scored JP Crawford and gave the M’s the walk-off win. It was a tough no decision for the Twins’s Bailey Ober who went 6 innings, allowing just 1 run on 2 hits and striking out 9. After starting the month at 1-6, the Twins have turned things around a bit and have gone 12-6 since that 7th game. They will send Pablo Lopez (7-6, 5.11) to the mound in this one. Lopez looked sharp in his last outing. Against the A’s, he pitched 8 shutout innings while allowing just 2 hits to pick up his 7th win of the season. His counterpart here will be Bryce Miller (6-6, 3.90) who was rocked in his last outing. Miller went just 4 innings and gave up 6 runs on 6 hits against the Marlins. If both pitchers repeat their last outings, this one will be over before it starts for the Mariners.
