The Twins continue to improve their record, positioning themselves as one of the most complete teams in MLB since their hitting took off, and on Thursday they'll be looking to complete their sweep of the Athletics in a four-game series in Sacramento.
With a tight back, Carlos Correa didn't appear in the Twins' lineup in Game 3. The Puerto Rican hadn't contributed much with his bat in the two 10-run routs the Twins scored in both Game 1 and Game 2, and he wasn't missed in Game 3, where the Twins scored six runs to win again.
Zebby Matthews was given the opportunity to start Game 3 while the A's also went with a makeshift pitcher, but Rocco Baldelli's betting paid off better, and Matthews was followed by four top-level relievers to maintain the lead until the end. Among them, Griffin Jax stood out again with his power changeup, striking out three of the three A's he faced.
The starting pitchers for Game 4 is unknown as of Wednesday night, but it's clear that the Athletics are the worst team in MLB in the last month.
