The Detroit Tigers (65-78, 34-35 Home) will host the Minnesota Twins (68-75, 30-41 Away) in a three-game series this week. Game 1 of the series is today at 3:10 pm EST at Comerica Park in Detroit, MI, with coverage provided by MLB.TV.
Detroit was in dire need of a win yesterday after going just 2-5 in their recent road trip. With the loss, the Twins have lost four of their last five games.
Minnesota is scheduled to give Den Kremer the start today. Kremer has gone 2-5 in 13 starts with a 5.81 ERA and a 1.31 WHIP. Since being acquired by the Twins, he has gone 1-1 in five starts in August with a 4.39 ERA. However, he struggled in his last outing, which was vs. Detroit, giving up four runs and six hits in four innings.
Drew Anderson is expected to get the start for the Tigers. He has a 4-5 record in 46 appearances with eight starts, a 3.73 ERA, and a 1.30 WHIP. He has often had his best stuff when pitching at home, where he is 3-0 with a 2.87 ERA and a .199 OBA.

Kremer has allowed 4+ earned runs in three of his last four starts, including his most recent outing against the Tigers. He got off to a hot start when the Twins acquired him, but he has most certainly cooled off. I expect the Miami lineup to have a solid day against him, but the Minnesota lineup is not going to have nearly as good a day against Anderson. Look for Detroit to cover the run line here.
