The Minnesota Twins are looking to avoid a 3-game losing streak as they head into this matchup. After taking game 1 against the Cubs in their last series, the Twins fell in back-to-back losses where they were held to a total of just 3 runs. While the losses are concerning, this Twins team just faced these Guardians a couple of weeks ago. In those games, they won 2 of the 3 games and will have one of their top arms throwing in this one in Joe Ryan.
After taking the final game of their previous series with the Twins, the Guardians went on to sweep the Miami Marlins and begin a 4-game winning streak. That was quickly stopped with a loss to Pittsburgh. In their series with the Pirates, they were outscored 17-6 and lost 2 of 3. The struggles at the plate have continued for Cleveland as they are hitting just a combined .230, which ranks them 28th in the league. Those numbers are not likely to improve here against Joe Ryan, who has been stingy in allowing runs on the season.
