Cleveland Guardians vs Minnesota Twins Prediction & Picks - MLB

The top of the AL Central meets the bottom of the AL Central tonight to kick off a weekend series. The Cleveland Guardians (20-19) are on top of the division, while the visiting Minnesota Twins (16-22) sit at the bottom of the division.

The Twins have lost 4 of their 6 games thus far in May. They avoided the sweep against Toronto by winning the final game of the series and then followed that up with a win in the opener against Washington. However, they lost the last two games in Washington by a combined score of 22-7. Connor Prielipp will start for Minnesota in this one. He’s been solid in his three starts this season. He has allowed just 2 runs in each start and has gone an average of 4.2 innings.

The Guardians will counter with Parker Messick. He has gone 3-1 on the year and is carrying a 2.40 ERA. He is, however, coming off his roughest outing. Against the Athletics, he allowed 4 runs on 6 hits in 5 innings and picked up the sole loss on his record. The Guardians as a team have won their last two games to split their 4-game series with the Royals.

If Messick can get back to the form he was in before his last start, the Guardians should have the edge in this series-opening game at home.
