The Minnesota Twins will try to push their winning streak to five games when they play the Cleveland Guardians in Game 2 of their series on Tuesday at Progressive Field.
The Twins have won four in a row, including an 11-1 win over the Guardians in their series opener on Monday. Minnesota’s terrific form in their winning streak has elevated both their batting and pitching numbers. Still fourth in the American League Central with a 13-16 record, the Twins are batting .234 with 117 runs and pitching a 3.55 ERA this season.
Meanwhile, the Guardians have conceded the top position in the AL Central after losing four of their last five games, including their last three assignments. Cleveland has conceded too many runs in their last five games, pitching a 7.80 ERA and .406 OBP.

Minnesota enters Game 2 against the Guardians, averaging 7.2 runs per game on a .323 batting average. The Guardians’ pitching has been dreadful over their last five games, especially the starters, who have posted a 12.05 ERA in this stretch. Twins starter Chris Paddack carries a 6.45 ERA but has delivered solid numbers in his last three starts, including a pair of games with one earned run allowed.
