The Cleveland Guardians (87-64) will face the Minnesota Twins (79-71) in game two of their 4-game set this evening in Cleveland. The Guardians have won 3 straight games, including game one of this series last night. Trailing 3-2 heading into the bottom of the 8th, Kyle Manzardo launched a 420ft 2-run home run to take the lead. Emmanuel Clase picked up his 46th save striking out 2 in the 9th to give the Guardians the win. Tonight, the Guardians will lean on Gavin Williams (3-9, 5.23) to go deep into the game as he will be the starter. He is coming off 2 not so great outings. Two starts ago, against the Dodgers, he did not even make it out of the 1st inning as he allowed 5 runs on 2 hits while walking 3. In his last start, against the Rays, he pitched 5.1 innings but gave up 3 runs on 7 hits and took his 9th loss of the season. For the Twins, Zebby Matthews (1-3, 7.11) will be handed the ball to start the game. He only went 3.1 innings against the Angels in his last go. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits and did not factor into the decision. It may come down to which starter can go past the 5th inning to determine our winner here in game two of the series.
