The Atlanta Braves will try to keep the good times rolling today after winning the first game of a three-game series against the Minnesota Twins Friday (6-4). Fans can follow the action once the game gets underway at 7:15 p.m. EST.
Atlanta got a decent start out of Bryce Elder Friday (five innings, six hits, four earned runs), but he didn’t get much support from his lineup with just a single run in the first seven innings. But then the Braves exploded for five runs in the eighth, four off Griffin Jax and one off Cole Sands. Atlanta will give the ball to Chris Sale to start the day. Sale has not had a good start to the season, going 0-2 in four starts. He has yet to last more than five innings in a game and has given up at least three earned runs in every start and a home run in each of his last three. Sale has an ERA of 6.63 and a WHIP of 1.53. Minnesota will start Simeon Woods Richardson. He’s gone 1-1 in three starts with an ERA of 4.30 and WHIP of 1.57.

That would make me lean towards betting the total, but the Braves are hitting .193 over the last week, and Minnesota just .245. But these lineups managed to record 10 runs yesterday, so I think they’ll manage at least eight today.
