The New York Knicks will go for the season sweep vs. the Timberwolves tonight when they host Minnesota at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET. New York destroyed the Timberwolves in their first matchup (Dec. 19) in Minneapolis, 133-107. The Knicks opened as 3.5-point home favorites.
New York will enter the game fresh off a 125-119 OT win over the Philadelphia 76ers. Minnesota is coming off a one-point loss, 116-115, to the Golden State Warriors. But neither team has been particularly good or bad of late. Both are 5-5 in their last ten games.
Minnesota will be without the services of Donte DiVincenzo, who the Knicks traded to the Timberwolves along with Julius Randle in exchange for Karl Anthony-Towns. He is listed as questionable for the game due to a sprained right thumb. The injury occurred during Monday’s loss to the Pistons. He has already sat out one game, Wednesday’s OT win over the 76ers in Philly.

If the T-Wolves had gotten one more bounce their way vs. Golden State and Memphis, they could be working on a six-game winning streak. They’ve been playing good basketball but have just fallen short by a play or two. Should the Knicks be without the services of Karl Anthony-Towns tonight, I’d lean toward taking Minnesota to win. However, if KAY plays, and the latest rumors say he will, I’d lean toward the Knicks to cover.
